Massage is a therapeutic technique that involves manipulating the body’s soft tissues, such as muscles, tendons, and ligaments, to promote relaxation, relieve muscle tension, and improve overall well-being. There are various types of massage, each with its own techniques and focuses. Some common types include Swedish massage, deep tissue/sports massage, and aromatherapy massage.

During a massage, a trained therapist uses their hands, fingers, elbows, or even special tools to apply pressure, knead, and stroke the body’s tissues. The pressure and techniques used can vary based on the individual’s preferences and needs. Massage is often sought for stress reduction, pain relief, improved circulation, and relaxation. It’s important to communicate your preferences and any health concerns to the massage therapist to ensure a safe and effective experience.

Ali is trained in Swedish massage and Lynn does deep tissue/sports massage. Deep tissue is a type of massage therapy that focuses on targeting deeper layers of muscles and connective tissues. It involves applying firm pressure and slow strokes to release chronic muscle tension and knots, which can develop due to various factors like poor posture, repetitive motions, or stress.

Unlike more gentle relaxation massages, deep tissue massage is often more intense and can cause some discomfort during the session. However, this discomfort should not be painful. Please do communicate during the treatment if the pressure is too much and we will adjust it to your comfort level.
